Solution
1. What are the main mistakes committed by football team management?
Strategic quality planning is of crucial essence as far as organizational quality, and
continuous excellence is concerned. Time is also a key factor since strategic planning involves
several phases that need a proper allocation of time to achieve effectiveness. The critical
mistakes committed by the football team management, in this case, were lack of proper
background information research before allocation of almost its entire resources to trading for
the best player in the league. The management also failed to recognize that continuous
improvement is a process that takes time to be achieved (Jagadeesh, 2014). Therefore it was a
wrong move to spend all the money on new players to win fast.
2. Why would a company that is turning out a satisfactory product want to examine its
people, processes, and work environment continually?
Continuous improvement is an essential aspect of Total Quality Planning. Any company
doing well in the market has to ensure that it maintains stable progress in all its associated
policies, procedures, and controls reputable to the management. To remain relevant to the
market, a company must conduct enough research while paying very close attention to all its
stakeholders and the processes that go around within the company and outside. Proper revision
and examination of the company's operational aspects significantly aids in improving proficiency
and consequently resulting in consistent scopes of environment. Sometimes the noticeable
improvements are small, while other times, the improvements are significantly considerable. The
company has to ensure that it is not standing still but moving forward (Jagadeesh, 2014).
3. Create a hypothetical manufacturing or service organization parallel for this
activity. Discuss how this assignment would apply to a company
STRATEGIC QUALITY PLANNING 3
A mobile money transfer company in the United Arab Emirates is struggling to retain its
customers through lowering transaction rates, among other strategies. The company is facing a
significant blow from other competitive firms which offer the same services. To retain its
customers and attract new customers, the company has developed new strategies such as
deploying its agents in major cities of the country and reducing transaction rates. These are
practical quality improvement strategies since the company is trying to understand the customer's
voice by addressing customer needs. The company may also conduct benchmarking outside their
organization to learn new ideas on improving their quality processes, products, and structures.
4. Write a vision statement for your hypothetical organization in question 3.
The company's vision is to create improved and straightforward everyday life for everyone
through the provision of easily accessible, cheap, long-term, and inspirational mobile money
transfer services. Additionally, in the next five years, the company has a vision of becoming the
best reputable mobile money transfer company in the United Arab Emirates and even across the
borders that offer low-rated money transaction services that complement all the groups' lifestyle
in the society.
5. Write a mission statement for your hypothetical organization in question 3.
To achieve its vision of becoming the best and most trustworthy mobile money transfer
organization in the United Arab Emirates and across the borders, the company has set out
strategic quality planning guidelines. The company's mission is to continuously improve the
quality of the company's operations and services through the proper adoption of the various
business excellence models. The company's adoption of the Business Excellence Models will
also help identify relevant benchmarks, best practices, and expert opinions.

6. Establish three broad objectives for the hypothetical organization in question 3.
First, the mobile money transfer company aims to enable customers to purchase tokens and
other mobile money transfer products easily. This objective is set to be achieved through the
provision of quality services at subsidized transaction costs. Secondly, the company is aimed at
ensuring that there is a timely provision of services to customers. This is an objective set to be
achieved by enhancing customer access to mini-statements of their transactions at any time. The
process is also set to be improved to a faster transaction process to avoid delays and consequent
customer frustrations. Lastly, it is the company's general objective to significantly contribute to
the business and nation's economic growth at large through the promotion and empowerment of
key stakeholders such as employees (Jagadeesh, 2014).
7. Describe the steps you would apply in executing your strategic plan in your
hypothetical organization.
I would involve two phases of the execution of the strategic plan. The first phase would be
the research phase, where I would perform a background check of all the information required to
collect and analyze data. This data would be so essential before beginning to execute any
strategic quality planning. In this phase, I would review the company's strategic plan, identify its
quality initiatives, understand the customer's needs, engage the employees via opinions, and
conduct benchmarking. The second phase would be the strategy phase, which would include
creating a quality vision, developing a quality policy, identifying quality strategies, and finally
developing an operational effectiveness plan (Jagadeesh, 2014).

8. Explain briefly what aspects should be focused on so that your company will be
eligible to win one of the international quality awards. How can you align these
aspects with your strategic plan?
Providing quality services through employees' motivation to commit themselves towards
quality services is an essential aspect of continuous improvements. Employee motivation
towards quality services may be achieved through promotions and the general economic
development of the various stakeholders. Human resources management also plays a vital role in
being an award-winning company. However, the company should be more focused on its
leadership and people's management as they are the critical determinants in the international
quality awards (Jagadeesh, 2014). Therefore, human resources management would be mandated
to enhance employee motivation through appraisals, salary increments, and promotions.
Leadership is an important aspect. Therefore, I would ensure that the company's leaders set a
clear vision for the company, guide the employees through work processes, and develop morale.
