healthy people. In the UAE, the government has implemented a set of
measures to protect all the people in the country against this virus. Write a
report describing these measures and how efficient they are.
2. Child Labour: In the developed world, the job of children is to simply learn,
grow, and enjoy themselves; but in the developing world, this is unfortunately
not reality — write a report on how children are maltreated in certain cases
and what should be done to avoid that.
3. Renewable energy. Solar energy, windmills, the potential of water resources,
electric vehicles, and many other solutions are now in place; but environmental
issues are still persistent. Why is renewable energy underused? Why is the
production of electric vehicles in its infancy although it started at the beginning
of the 20th century? Write a report to answer these questions.
4. Childhood obesity: Because of all the high-calorie foods that are available
today, many children in industrialized countries have weight problems — what

over the years due to the increasing climate change. Climate change has led to the formation of
adverse weather patterns such as rising temperatures, rising sea levels, increased rainy seasons,

changes to the increasing level of carbon in the atmosphere largely caused by the combustion of
non-renewable energy resources. International bodies such as the UN and UNEP have been
forced to bring global governments together to create policies and measures that will help in the
reduction of carbon emissions per country. One of the policies highly advocated for by the
international environmental groups is the adoption of renewable sources of energy; these types of
energy sources are environmental friendly and do not release any form of toxic gasses.
Renewable energy, also known as clean energy, has far more advantages than it just
being "green" energy, it is much cheaper to maintain and healthier to human health. According to
National Geographic (2019, p. 1), humans have heavily relied on coal, oil, and other fossil fuels
to power cars and factory machines for production and innovation for the past two centuries; this
resulted in a historical increase in greenhouse gasses. Renewable energy source occurs naturally
and can recur without any human intervention, unlike non-renewable energy sources once they
are used their presence diminishes and cannot be renewed. Some examples of renewable energy
include solar energy, wind energy, hydropower, biogas, and geothermal energy. The essay looks

is the increased capital costs for using renewable energy. The expense of building and installing
solar, wind, and geothermal farms and machines is highly expensive. The energy sources are,

energy, the larger part of the economy is still run by the use of non- renewable energy, which

readily available in the market and offered at a very cheap price, while renewable energy is a bit

is rarely available, while the presence of non-renewable energy is everywhere.
Unequal Play Field
The union of concerned scientists (2017, p. 1) cites the unequal playing field for the two
types of energy as another factor. Most multibillion companies chose to use non-renewable
energy sources, returning most of the money to that sector rather than enriching the renewable
energy sectors, this prompts a lot of energy investors to work with the most profitable source of
energy in the market.
Renewable Energy Misconception
Over the years, the fossil fuel sectors have created a lot of misleading information on the
concept of climate change to divert the main cause of the changing weather patterns. Reliability
misconceptions are one form of falsified information against renewable energy sources the fossil
fuel sector likes to highlight the viability of the sun and the wind and the level of loss it can
cause to a whole industry. Fossil fuels are readily available and can easily be acquired by
extraction, unlike renewable energy, where people have to wait for natural occurrences to have a
form of energy.
Why the production of electric cars is still in its infancy yet the
technology is from the 20 th century
In most countries across the globe, the use of electric cars has not yet been adopted, the
UAE has a few electric cars and the purchase of these types of cars in the country are very slow,
this might be due to factors such as cost and reliability. The manufacturing and production of
electric cars are expensive, and many motor companies are just not willing to take the risk.
TESLA company is globally known for its major achievement in the creation of electric cars,
other motor industries deal with the production of electric cars but on a lower scale. The market
is flooded with fuel using vehicles, which also come at a cheaper price putting the electric
vehicles out of the market, due to this most investors fear to lose their investments under the
production of electric cars.

of enough financial resources and had to seek help from financial firms to finance their project,
this led to a lot of technical mishaps with their first luxury electric car. Due to the high
production cost of electric cars, the final retail price of the car is highly expensive and
unaffordable to a lot of people reducing the potential market of the car. The reliability of electric
cars has also been called to question; with fuel vehicles, it's easier since refilling stations are
almost everywhere while electric car charges are not well distributed.
Conclusion
The use of renewable energy is expected to increase in the next few years; however, the
constant use of non-renewable energy continues to pollute the environment by increasing the
level of carbon and other toxic gasses in the air. The UAE has one of the largest solar energy
farms in the world, a clear indication of the countries effort to create a more conservative and
sustainable form of energy; however, I believe the current extensive use of non-renewable

sources of energy in the country continues to harm the environment. The government also needs
to create a fairer competition between renewable sources of energy and fossil fuels in the market
by advocating for the use of more sustainable sources of energy.
