In learning, a classroom management plan (CMP) contains detailed procedures of rules
and regulations that all students present in the institution should follow in an environment that
provides mutual learning and respect. The major need for employing an EMP in learning

Personal philosophy of classroom management

One of the famous theorist in education John Dewey states that individuals learn through
a hands-on approach in experiments related to actual occurrences of events. I believe that a
teacher who applies the philosophy of involving students in making classroom rules has a better
chance of implementing the CMP (Chebel-Morello et al., 2013). It is through experimenting
student’s ability to make rules that are relatable, increases their adaptation to learning and gives

safe environment where students are free to present their views and speak their mind concerning
issues surrounding them. Through communication, teachers are able to create ideas of teaching
based on the students’ current understanding and feelings towards the education system. The
students will therefore help teachers in identification of strengths and weaknesses as Bruner’s
constructivism theory suggests. Burner states that learning is a continuous process which
involves being active in a classroom and analyzing ones understanding through communicating

teacher. It is through seeking help that students will advance their understanding and achieve

Classroom physical environment

A research carried out by Suleman Et al. (2014) suggests that classroom arrangement
influences students learning and performance. The major keys to an excellent classroom
arrangement includes arranging a classroom in a way that congestion is minimized especially
while moving and the use of arrangements that enhance quick transitions to group discussion
activities. A classroom arrangement that gives all the students a view to the teacher and
presentation on boards should be considered. The arrangement should ensure that the teacher has
access to all the students in the class and the last classroom arrangement is to set a row that
provides consistency to the teacher’s instructional activities together with goals without having
to change it too often but one that encourages discipline amongst students.

In Childers and others (2013) journal on education, they suggest that a good relationship
between students and their teacher creates a huge impact in the trajectory of success in academic
development. For teachers to build strong learning relationship with students, they must
strategies the following skills. First, as a teacher, you need to be compassionate without
practicing biasness when handling the needs of the class. Handling students with the same
respect you expect from them will help in developing an excellent relationship as well as
complimenting students with positive feedback. A teacher who makes follow ups on students
after classes is bound to develop a stronger and deeper relationship with them. One can also
build a great relationship with students by engaging them in activities that demand their
cooperation and ones that give them an opportunity to speak out their experiences in life. Calling
students by their names is another way of promoting a positive relationship with a sense of
belonging and increases student’s participation in learning.
Setting up a classroom or a workshop

In any classroom or workshop, there must be rules and regulations guiding students and
punishment for the group that do not behave in the codes set. Therefore, the rules should entail, a

Managing a class is not always a walk in the park, there are few challenges caused mostly
by students that affect teachers’ CMP implementation. Among the problems associated with
student learning activities include time constraints, personal clashes, high noise levels and the
size of class in terms of student’s number. The three elements used to solve the CMP problems
include the use of safety programs, preoperational planning and reviewing the core mission of

routine guideline before conducting the actual learning helps teachers to control classes more
effectively and improve learning skills of their students.

Support and intervention

In intervening for a comprehensive CMP technique available for learning and improving
student’s cooperation, there are several strategies put in place. I believe that students should be
given an opportunity to interact with their teachers on a regular and personal level (Schelly et al.,
2015). Therefore, the professionals in learning institution need to use the direct instructions on
individual students without having a mediator in between them for better analysis of students
understanding on the lessons taught at classroom. Feedback is another great way for teachers to
access the ability of students to know whether what they have acquired over the learning period
is right or they need to adjust to a more practical lesson. Students reflection after a class is over is
another great intervention teacher can employ to support them in education programs. The theory
of Dewey on pragmatists dwells on taking action to familiarize with the environment present in
institution (Klebl, 2010). Therefore, when teachers are actively involved in students’ academic
lives, learning becomes interesting and easy to understand.
Positive reinforcement

Inquiry based learning is a theory model that was proposed by Joseph Schwab in 1960s
which relies in the definition on the basis of investigations of experiments, problems and
scenarios to learn new things through the exploitation of old memories. A positive reinforcement
involves the use of positive feedbacks to students in appreciation of efforts they show in
learning. Monitoring the progress of students by testing them on how much they have grabbed
after a lesson is over is a genius way to reinforce learning in an entertaining manner which
probes student’s attention (Yeston, 2010). Another positive method one can employ to improve
achievements of education is rephrasing the lesson through posing questions to students one by
one at a time. In relation to my philosophy on providing students with equal opportunities in

class, teachers form a fundamental role in learning atmosphere and by using positive comments
on student’s projects outcome, learning will be achievable as the CMP program will be flowing
due to the willing character of students and a friendly environment created by teachers.

Working with parents

Parents are a major source of contribution to students learning behavior in school and
their adaptations to school rules, regulations, their behavior towards fellow students and teachers.
By involving parents in school learning activities and meetings, they become a part of institution
internal environment and influencers of education. No parent likes to see their children failing in
school therefore, giving them a responsibility of instilling discipline to their children is a good
way to develop a positive environment of learning from home. Therefore, it will be easier to
conduct a CMP on students as they already are discipline and can follow the rules set. Parents are
majorly the role models to their children thus the Dewey’s theory of learning through practical
lessons in the environment come into practice (Schelly et al., 2015). In my belief, children
should be taught the art of responsibility from home in their early life before enrolling to school
merges well in this case as parents will have instilled the responsible behavior in them and it will
be their role to monitor their student’s behavior after school.
Conclusion

In summary, a CMP is a good tool in learning as it helps teachers monitor student’s
behavior and instill discipline in them through the punishments for mischievous behaviors. A
CMP ensures teachers have access to the students and improves their success in learning,
emotional and social development together with identifying the good behaviors. A teacher is able
to save time and focus more on the topics that need much attention through the use of a CMP.
