Comparison between Modern British Society and UAE

The modern Britain is still a class society and although traditional makers such as occupation and income are no longer reliable categories for differentiating between classes, cultural and social codes still maintain traditional hierarchies of former eras.

Where economic opportunities allow people of different backgrounds to obtain similar levels of wealth, different social groups creates class ideologies in other to disassociate themselves from other groups they feel are a threat to their social superiority (Clapham, 1938, n.p).

On the other hand UAE is a modern society that uses modern technology, and remarkably places with amazing experience. The UAE has used its wealth to create a prosperous, stable, well-administered modern society and the long-term vision of its leadership has ensured that political and economic achievements have been accompanied by a giant leap in social conditions.

Having the top brands of cars in British as being Mc Laren, Mini, Jaguar, Aston Martin and Betley, UAE on the other hand enjoys different taste. The top brand cars in UAE include the BMW, Toyota, Nissan and Mercedes (Clapham, 1938, n.p). On the other hand, the bestselling car brands in the UKĀ  in 2014 and 2015 as is also the case in UAE were the Ford and Volkswagen and Toyota and in both cases the countries experienced high economic returns.

Social media plays an important role in establishing a new social culture on modern technology and the tremendous progress made in communication between people (Hafez, 2001, n.p). In both countries, the social media has brought both negative and positive effects. Facebook, twitter, Skype, LinkedIn and YouTube are media used in both countries.

In both cases, proven tracks of social media misuse are witnessed some leading to marital break-ups, or even some people living with online acquaintances. Positively, social media is used for communication and is so effective in both cases. On the other hand, not all people use media in both countries. Statistics shows that Britain has a large number of individuals using social media. The total active social media users in UAE are about 56.37% while in Britain the total users ranges from 64-70%; being the major difference between the two countries.
