Sustainable energy is the stipulation of energy in a sustainable way that satisfies the demands of the present individuals without denying the future generation the rights in meeting their needs. Mexico has the largest reserves of crude oil and has rich renewable sources of energy like wind, solar, biomass, geothermal and hydropower.
Despite being endowed with all these natural resources, the energy has been partially tapped in many parts of Mexico. This study focuses on how natural resources can now be exploited for the purpose of the current generation without impacting negatively on the demand of the future generation. Mexico is considered to generate most of its energy needs from renewable resources by the year 2024 due to its high potential to provide large amounts of energy from its natural reserves.
Law enactment has been a milestone for improvement of sustainable renewable energy sector in Mexico. The Law establishes a wide policy goals which relate to sustainable energy and provide the government the authority to come up with strategies the strategies that add renewable sources to the energy portfolio (Bundschuh., & Chen, 2014).
Biomass is a Bioenergy’s primary source has ever since been declining in Mexico fro the rear 1965 when it was the country, is the chief energy provider. This has been taken by the use of hydrocarbon fuels that has increased steadily which is highest gross energy provider in Mexico. There are many reasons that require Mexico to increase its use of renewable energy sources.
This is because of the fact that the Mexicos increasing over dependence on the fossil fuel is very problematic. The use of renewable energy sources helps to eliminate the effects of greenhouse emissions, leads to improvement in the distribution of income and the creation of new employment opportunities in the rural set up (Graycar, & Smith., 2011).
The generation of power in Mexico is dominated by the use of fossil fuels, which is then followed by the renewable sources of energy. Generation of power from renewable energy has increased by a large percentage yet its contribution to the overall generation of power has stagnated. Mexico has the highest solar energy potential in the world after Singapore and China. Solar power is the source of renewable energy source that has no negative impacts to the environment because of its friendly nature (Appelman, Osseyran., & Warnier, 2014).
Todays Mexico geothermal generation has developed significantly and is among the top four in the whole world. Geothermal energy exploration is highly required in Mexico yet its high cost of exploration has limited its scope of production. This calls for the country to find the alternative ways of generating geothermal power in order to carry out electrification both rural and urban electrification. The country has strived to work on this by increasing the number of megawatts produces.
More than fifty nine research has led to the development of power for power supply and co-generation in 1912. The been installed. The control of the state electricity has been left in control of the state with participation being limited from the private businesses.. In tits constitution, it states that the provision of the electricity is supposed to be public.
Transmission of electricity has to be directed to the public who are the citizen of Mexico. This shows that when the private sectors are left to the electricity alternatively the bill will be high locking out the poor in the society from achieving the company, s mission (Bundschuh., & Chen, 2014).

This has been achieved by the government legally barring the private investors from owning the reserves because of them, they are only guided by the principle of profitability rather than preserving the environment (Moroney, 2005).

In conclusion, the view of geochemical and geological limitations on the economic mineral deposits and energy sources and the way nature has advanced in exploitation techniques that some resources are infinite. The question of “when will we run out” of energy resources, guides the country in managing the natural resource by understanding the resource limits.
Mexico with the help of Law and its allocation of public money has helped it to promote its exploitation of renewable energy. Mexico also has demonstrated its commitment that is long term for renewable energy and utilized the opportunities by diversifying the national energy appearance (Graycar, & Smith., 2011).
