Solution

Introduction

The World Kindness Day highlights good deeds by members of the community as well as
the importance of kindness in bridging political, social and religious differences. In so doing the
day is celebrated to illustrate appreciation to all members of the society even those whose
contributions are deemed less important. In this regard to celebrate the day, there are several
activities that we plan to execute in order to promote happiness an important tool especially at
such a time when there are several ideological, political, gender and cultural differences in the
UAE. Besides that this report contains a situational analysis, challenges experienced in planning
the campaign and key parameters of the campaign (cost, timeline).
Situational analysis

To start with the strengths, the four of us tasked with planning for the event have
immeasurable passion and a dedication to the improvement of the community. Moreover, as
happiness is a lifestyle in the UAE community and most of its institutions were among the first
to observe the day, the culture of kindness is evidence and it is highly likely that the campaign
will succeed (Lambert, & Hussain, 2016). On matters weaknesses, the proposal is our first and
the lack of experience is likely to affect the success of the event. Moreover, the proposal is at a
high risk of failure due to some of the activities that were planned for the event due to a lack of
support. For example, taking photos of workers may not resonate well with them

Target Audience, Tactics and Strategy

According to Stacks, (2016), tactics include the uses of symbolic association with the
kindness cause; in this case, it includes balloons with kindness information, pictures of happy

workers and the round wheel game which shall provide several gifts to participants. In this case,
the target audience is the larger HCT community including students and support staff and the
main strategy to the campaign is to use traditional arts to raise awareness on the Kindness Day.

Timeline and Budget

The proposed campaign shall utilize information from past events to predict costs for the
event. This includes the number of guests expected to attend a well as the cost of items for
activities, in so doing there is a benchmark budget in place to guide the cost estimation. The
projected data shall help in detailed estimation as there is now sufficient knowledge of the
activities to be carried out (DRURY, 2013). On matters timeline, the event shall run for a day.

Difficulties in producing the plan

The main challenge was the lack of experience in planning for the event; nonetheless, the
difficulty was overcome by utilizing data from similar events held in the past.

Conclusion

The proposed event is likely to be a success as the situational analysis has helped
highlight key strengths and opportunities while providing measures to mitigate threats and
weaknesses. Moreover, through the use of symbolic associations, the event shall be able to
endear to its target audience.
